What do I need to run Ichido?
macOS 26 or later. Apple Silicon is recommended. Ichido is free while in early access. Words chat also needs available Apple Intelligence.
Which languages can I practice?
Choose the spoken language in Settings → Transcription. Apple supports a range of languages, with downloads when needed. Optional Parakeet detects 25 European languages automatically. For Japanese, choose Apple. Transcription, translation, and Words chat support different languages.
Will Ichido correct my pronunciation?
No. Reference practice compares timing, pitch, and loudness. It can suggest two measured practice targets when enough words match reliably. It does not grade your accent or assess fluency.
What does Words do?
Words explains meanings, grammar, synonyms, and translations from your transcript. It is experimental and off by default; enable it in Settings → Experiments. Chat requires available Apple Intelligence, runs on your Mac, and clears when you quit. AI can be wrong. Words can’t hear or evaluate your audio. Translation languages may need a download.
Are my recordings uploaded?
No. Your audio, transcripts, and analysis stay on your Mac. Read about privacy and network use.
Why might macOS block the first launch?
Ichido is not Apple-notarized yet. The early-access app is ad-hoc signed, so macOS may ask you to approve it. See Apple’s opening guidance and the installation steps in the download details.
